About Me

I was born in Athens Greece to Leonidas and Ourania .  Shortly thereafter , my father whom served in the military, moved to the island of Limnos, filled with fields, mountains, and beaches.  Although, many outside my country of Greece find it Ancient and historic, for me its my home.  Greece, known for its structures, concrete pillars, Amphitheaters, home walls, and streets lined with cementous material.  The early "emplekton", cement,  the Hellenes used was a mixture of volcanic ash, lime and sea water, mixed together with volcanic rocks and spread into wooden moulds that were then immersed in more sea water.  This became the early basis for the Romans heavy use of concrete in building the ancient world we know today.  The Coliseum, the Parthenon, and Acropolis are some very well known structures.  

I have a love and miss seeing the structures, the smell of my islands beaches, the fields of lavender, sage, thyme, and the wind that blows from the Aegean sea.  At first, I wanted to create a space in my house in Maine, where I now call home for the past 20 plus years,  that I could feel and be apart of my homeland.  Using Aromatherepy essential oils bring me more peace and the ability to center myself.  This grew into a passsion for handmaking the vessels and creating a scent that truley reminded me of my homeland. With each scent comes a story.  A story that embodies what each element personifies.  Estia was born.
